10 Upcoming Video Games That Prove Single Player Is Far From Dead
2. Cyberpunk 2077
There hasn't been a game in a long while that's built hype quite like Cyberpunk has. Whilst only showing a cinematic trailer at Microsoft's E3 showcase, the sci-fi RPG spread like wildfire as press were shown a whopping forty-minute demo and left absolutely gobsmacked. It was rare to hear even a single journalist mention anything they disliked about the game.
To see a single-player title making such an impact through little more than word of mouth shows just how anticipated these kinds of experiences are, gamers listening to every recounted detail to try and learn as much as they can about this ambitious new IP. It's easy to see why though, after many who saw the demo cited its incredibly unique world, crammed with vivid detail, stunning aesthetics and seedy undertones.
CD Projekt Red has also discussed the darker tone of the game, mentioning that it's going to be a mature experience for older audiences. It clearly implies that the studio is reluctant to skimp on what makes the world so morbidly enticing, taking influence from the likes of Blade Runner, Grand Theft Auto and The Witcher 3 in developing its striking world.
If the giddy excitement of the biggest gaming outlets in the world is anything to go on, we're in for an absolute treat when Cyberpunk drops in the future.
