10 Upcoming Video Games We're Most Worried About
1. Death Stranding
Just in case it’s still needed despite the previous entry, let’s reiterate: this is not a list of games expected to flop, or fail, or just generally be bad.
Death Stranding is shaping up to have a cracking release and there’re lots of reasons to be excited, but they’re mixed in with a few reasons to pump the brakes. Every time we learn more about the game we just have more questions.
The name refers to beached whales awaiting death, which while poetic and atmospheric, doesn’t give us a whole lot of info on the game. Conversely, Cyberpunk 2077’s title paints a vivid picture.
One of the earliest details we got was ‘Time Fall’: a rain which ages whatever it touches. Again, it’s cool and trippy and sci fi, but what’s the game actually about?
Gameplay footage offered some insight, but was overshadowed by the weirdness of Norman Reedus wandering around with a jarred foetus.
Then more details came, and one of the major talking points is you can make Norman Reedus have a wee?! Seriously, what on Earth is going on with this game?
Hideo Kojima deserves the benefit of the doubt, but let’s hope Death Stranding isn’t just all his worst impulses sewn together.
