10 Upcoming Video Games We're Most Worried About

Cyberpunk 2077 is shaping up to be a brilliant game, but remember, this isn’t about games which will be bad. It’s one of the most hyped up games of all time, and while it’s not fair to call it overhyped - it may well deliver, of course - the bar is being set extremely high for a game of this scale and ambition, especially given it’s also being tasked with establishing a franchise.

The game’s not even out yet and the second most popular user tag for it on Steam is Masterpiece. Come on, guys.

There’s been minor controversies so far, with players angry at alleged racial profiling or transphobia, then at the potential option to play as a transgender character, and finally at the apparent removal of a gender toggle altogether. Lots of storms in lots of teacups, but it’s clearly not been plain sailing.

One issue which isn’t going away though is the forced first player only viewpoint. It seems a strange choice for such a gorgeous open world where character customisation has been front and centre of the marketing, and feels needlessly restrictive.

There’s a lot to look forward to, but with massive expectations, it’s not great that they’ve already been dampened.
