10 Utter Trash Video Games You Love Anyway
1. The Simpsons Wrestling
Talk to anyone who played The Simpsons Wrestling today and you'll hear one of two takes:
Either it's one of the worst video games ever made; a true affront to all that is good and pure in the universe, OR it's one of their fondest childhood memories.
Firing up a PlayStation to play a Simpsons version of something that barely qualifies as wrestling, Big Ape Productions' title was made up of little more than putting two beloved Simpsons characters in a ring, and frantically punching and kicking one another until someone could be pinned.
Each character had special moves - Barney belched, Flanders summoned the power of God, etc. - but it was mostly punching and kicking. And if you were a certain age, it was hilarious.
Seriously, look at gameplay. Just watching it, you can tell it's atrocious... but also kind of really funny. The way the characters move, the speed at which they move, the special attacks, and even the random dialogue. Flanders proclaiming, "I'm a mur-diddly-urderer" after fighting Lisa to the point of unconsciousness is absolutely demented.
Also, there's something that just makes sense about Flanders being one of the most overpowered characters in the history of video games. He's like the Shao Kahn of The Simpsons.
