8. Will Mario Tennis Aces Have Enough To Do?
It's been quite a while since the Mario sports spin-offs were actually, well, good. Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (even the name is generic) on the Wii U was famously maligned. Perhaps the last truly good one was Mario Golf: World Tour on the Nintendo 3DS. So a lot of people are looking to Aces to hopefully revitalise the plumber's extra curricular activities.
Featuring a story mode, slick graphics and a few new gameplay mechanics, Aces certainly looks the part, however, Mario sports spin-offs often feel as though they haven't quite kept up with the times.
There's doubt as to whether Aces will really offer enough to justify its full price tag. Plus, when a game about swinging a racket with your arms adds Chain Chomp as a character, you know they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.
The Switch needs more Mario spin-offs, so here's hoping Aces manages to make it over the net. But when the biggest headlines regarding the game are about Luigi's crotch (yes, really), you do have to wonder.
