10 Video Game Abilities That Would Kick Ass In Real Life
10. Save Points
The Ability: Gotta go out? Is the wife nagging you to stop playing Final Fantasy VII? Or do you just feel like a break? That's what save points were made for! Save systems have varied throughout the ages, from designated points that gamers have to interact with (see above), to frustrating limited saves (ink ribbons in the earlier Resident Evil games), and nowadays mostly checkpoint-based saves, where the game auto-saves when you reach the next section. With sandbox-style RPGs like Fallout, however, you're lucky enough to be able to save whenever you want. In Real Life: So, you're about to do something daring and brazen, like ask that cute girl out who works in your office? She shoots you down, so rather than tuck your tail between your legs and be the gossip of the office for the next week, you can simply reload your quick-save and the only person who will know it ever crossed your mind will be you. Of course, this could also be helpful for more adventurous activities, like jumping out of a plane, in case your parachute doesn't work. And theoretically, you could also use it to manipulate things like the stock market: simply make a save before trading begins, learn the day's vital financial information, and then buy the relevant stocks just in time. In essence, it's just like time travel.
