10 Video Game Achievements That RUIN The Game
1. Mostly Flesh And Steel - Dishonored
In Dishonored, you play as a supernatural assassin that is capable of killing entire groups of soldiers with powers of teleportation, time control, and body possession. So what does the "Mostly Flesh and Steel" achievement do? It takes all those amazing powers away from you and forces you to finish the game with just your knife and gadgets.
Now, there are plenty of similar restrictive achievements to be gained in Dishonored, like the Clean Hands achievement, which requires you to not kill anyone in your playthrough. This said, although they are restrictive, these achievements are still fun as they challenge you to play the game differently.
However, while Mostly Flesh and Steel offers a similar challenge, the difference here is that the other achievements allow you to play with the full range of your abilities. This one doesn't, making the overall experience feel boring and repetitive.
Without your powers, it's hard to get creative with your kills, and because optional shortcuts and alternative entrances usually require the use of your powers, you'll be following a very linear path to the end of most levels.
After you finish a no-power run, you'll never want to look at a pistol or a crossbow in your life.
