8. Point Of No Return - Ghost Of Tsushima

final fantasy 7 remake
Sony Interactive Entertainment

Completion Rate: 92.81%

Sucker Punch’s recent smash Ghost of Tsushima follows in the footsteps of great open-world titles that came before it: player choice is the key.

The protagonist is a Japanese samurai in the time of the first Mongolian invasion of the country, meaning that there are a whole lot of enemies to try and repel. Deciding on the best way to approach each encounter is down to the player, as there are ample opportunities for both all-out sword-swinging violence or more subtle, stealthy approaches.

Stealth is available to most players, that is. Interestingly, the option to sneakily deal with enemy encampments and bases must be unlocked. To do this, gamers need only complete the main mission The Warrior’s Code. It’s available very early in the game and should be a player’s first priority. Oddly, it doesn’t seem to have been.

Finishing The Warrior’s Code grants the Point Of No Return trophy. While it has a high unlock rate of 92.81%, those remaining players have definitely gotten very lost very soon. Once again, that wide open world is probably to blame for that.
