4. Siding With O'Dimm - The Witcher 3
When it comes to The Witcher 3's Heart Of Stone DLC, most people agree that siding with Gaunter O'Dimm is not right. Gaunter is a soul-stealing demon, after all, and his deal with Olgierd was clearly twisted to ensure Olgierd would suffer and lose everything in his life.
However, while it is true that O'Dimm is the villain of the story, siding with him and letting him consume Olgierd's soul is actually the lesser of two evils.
You see, even before Olgierd was cursed with becoming an unfeeling monster, his life was centered around raiding and pillaging. He was always a thrill-seeking and selfish person who was not above sacrificing his own brother's life just so he could marry the love of his life.
When Geralt saves Olgierd, the man has nothing to live for. His brother and wife are dead, and his family's fortune is all but gone. Combine this with Olgierd's past and personality, and it's very likely that as soon as the curse is broken, Olgierd will return to drowning his sorrows in reckless fights and terrorizing local villages.
The choice here is really between punishing one guilty man or letting the world suffer the whims of a depressed maniac.
