10 Video Game Bad Endings You Can Get By Pure Accident
8. Do The Main Mission, And Fail - Fable III
The ending of Fable III is divided into two stages. After you ascend to the throne, the game informs you that the Crawler and his army of darkness are about to destroy Albion, and you have 121 days to build a force strong enough to stop them.
Normally, this part of the finale consists of you seizing each and every day to the best of your ability, gathering money for your cause, and keeping up the morale of your kingdom until you’re ready to face the Crawler.
However, there is a way to accidentally speed up the process and suddenly find yourself in the final fight without sufficient funds.
You see, although you have 121 days, if you decide to start the main mission quest on your strategy map at any point in that period, finishing it will immediately push you forward in time to the final day.
Without knowing how the mission works, it’s really easy to accidentally undermine all of your progress during the preparation period and set yourself on collision course with the game’s bad ending.
That quest must’ve been really tiring if it takes a hundred days to sleep it off.
