7. Sephiroth - Final Fantasy VII
Some villains you just can't hate because they pull it off so well. Sephiroth is one of those, but don't worry there are other reasons you are a terrible person for killing this guy. So this guy is in a lot of guys bad books because he stabbed Cloud's love interest, but let's get that out the way straight off. He killed Aeris and he is a very bad man, but think about it. How many protagonists would be given deeper and more interesting personalities if more current antagonists in RPGs killed their love interests? So Sephiroth is introduced as the head bad guy in Final Fantasy VII after killing President Shinra, something which couldn't have been that hard if a guy with a 10 foot katana can do it. As the game goes on it reveals much more to Sephiroths backstory, showing him to once have been a powerful elite warrior and a celebrated war veteran of the Shinra-Wutai war. Things went bad for the white haired warrior after he discovered that he was in fact a genetically engineered baby. DNA from an alien life form known as Jenova was implanted into him during his embryonic stages. After learning of his 'mother's' attempt to control the planet over two thousand years previous Sephiroth begins his own conquest of the planet by merging with the planet's LifeStream. A quest which would lead to his confrontation and death at the hands of Cloud Strife. Sephiroth was a calculating villain but showed the courage to get things done and the intelligence to do them well. If for no other reason you should be ashamed because you're wiping such unbelievable malice from the world. Also where else will you find hair that silky?
