10 Video Game Bosses Only Hardcore Players Got To Fight
1. Yiazmat - Final Fantasy XII
Yiazmat is the undisputed ruler of bosses for hardcore players.
Yiazmat is the final Elite Mark of Final Fantasy XII. Just to put that into perspective, there are 32 Marks and 12 other Elite Marks in the game, all of which can only be fought after specific events in the game and all of which you must defeat if you want to seek out Yiazmat yourself. The Elite Marks themselves aren't always easy, with two of them, Gilgamesh and Shadowseer, having their own 'boss' health bars and with Gilgamesh also having to be fought twice! There's also the optional Hell Wyrm boss that must be defeated.
Congratulations, once all this has been accomplished, you can face Yiazmat! You may want to make yourself comfortable...
Yiazmat himself in formidable. He has over 50 million hit points. 50 MILLION! He has so many, that his health bar is divided into 50 sections.
Not only that, but once his HP drops below 50%, the amount of damage he receives is reduced by a third, meaning that players will likely have to switch tactics partway through the battle.
Now, you can wander off to a nearby save point to buy items and recover slightly, but this can also backfire as the beast can cast Regen on itself and should it do this before you have left the area, it can continue to regenerate its health, even if the player party isn't nearby.
The battle takes hours to complete, with a two-hour completion being considered fast for the average player.
Oh, and this is even worse if you're not playing the Zodiac versions of the games, as damage output from your party members is capped at a maximum of 9,999, which then drops to 6,999 when Yiazmat is below 50% health.
So yeah, you've got to be super hardcore to want to take on this challenge.
