Ghost Master is a game where you put on the hat of the titular Ghost Master and command a ragtag group of specters to wreak havoc in the small town of Gravenville. It features several recurring villains, including a knock-off parody of the Ghostbusters called the Ghostbreakers.

The Ghost Master encounters them for the first time in the second act of the game. They visit one of the houses haunted by the ghosts, equipped with special vacuums that can permanently get rid of your posse. At this stage, they can get easily scared off the property by quickly summoning and dismissing your haunters near them. owever, this is only the beginning of your rivalry.

After their first failed attempt at removing the haunters, the Ghostbreakers appear in several other missions, each time utilizing new technological gizmos that defend them against your antics. These include special barriers that prevent ghosts from spawning, a machine that binds ghosts to a tile, and finally, an ether bomb that completely obliterates the undead.
