10 Video Game Bosses That React To You Being A Jerk

Play nice... or you'll regret it.

Uncharted 4 Rafe

When a player gets stuck on a tricky boss, they may find themselves in an awkward stalemate. Even if it's clear what to do, some adversaries are simply too tough to put in the ground.

But as the old saying goes, there's more than one way to skin a cat (we really need a less gross expression to make that point). Although bosses are expected to be defeated a certain way, some can be beaten by relying on cheap tactics, spamming, or by taking advantage of a glitch. It may not be graceful, but it shouldn't matter so long as it gets the job done.

However, the antagonists may feel so hard done by, they'll call out the hero for their behaviour. Sure, these evildoers intend to take over the world or destroy humanity, but they still play by the rules. If you cheat or refuse to take the fight seriously, your rival may restart the battle, refuse to let you progress, or instantly kill you.

And if the bosses pre-emptively warn you to play fair, you shouldn't be too surprised when you're reprimanded for your misbehaviour.

10. Tiny Tiger - Crash Bandicoot: Warped

Uncharted 4 Rafe

In Crash Bandicoot: Warped's first boss battle, Tiny Tiger challenges Crash inside a gladiatorial arena, while audience members cheer on from the sidelines. When the oxymoronically-named tiger isn't jabbing you with his over-sized trident, he's summoning lions into the arena to tear you to pieces.

Even though this fight is a piece of cake, there's a way to make it easier. By standing in the top-left or top-right of the room, the lions won't be able to reach you, allowing you to cheese your way through the whole scrap.

This tactic is so well-known, the developers behind the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy remake could've easily fixed it. Although they didn't, they inserted a mechanic to make players feel bad if they hid in the corners.

If you cheese your way through the Tiny Tiger brawl in the remake, the crowd will show their displeasure by hurling Swiss cheese at Crash.

Although this method is the easiest way to defeat Tiny Tiger, you'll probably feel guilty afterward since the game keeps reminding you that you're not relying on skill.
