Resident Evil is filled with enemies who refuse to stay dead (even by zombie standards). As such, fans are half-expecting these undead creatures to resurrect themselves, even after they've popped their clogs.

However, everyone was astonished by Jack Baker's resilience while playing Resident Evil VII. After Jack cornered Ethan Winters in the garage, our hero was forced to blow his brains out.

That would usually be enough to eliminate a regular zombie, but Jack shakes it off and gets back to making Ethan's life a living hell. While taking part in a chainsaw duel, Ethan eviscerates Jack, until he's nothing more than a pair of legs. At this point, even the most skeptical RE fans would safely assumed Jack was dead.

Sadly, soon after the patriarch of the Baker family is revived as a colossal abomination, hunting Ethan once more. Once Jack is defeated, he doesn't appear for the rest of the campaign, indicating he's finally been put to rest.

... Until he pops up in DLC, End of Zoe. Jack hounds you once again, this time as a nigh-indestructible creature called Swamp Man.

Even though Resident Evil villains like Nemesis and William Birkin have a rep for cheating death, Jack Baker has them both beat.
