9. Manus, Father Of The Abyss - Dark Souls (2011)

Maybe it's a little hypocritical to put a Dark Souls game up here, so let me preface this by saying that Manus is still a REALLY hard boss. As you'd expect from the final boss of the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, Manus, the cause of more-or-less everything you've had to kill up until this point, does not go down without a long and dangerous fight.

The DLC revolves around you halting the spread of the Abyss, a task that the legendary Knight Artorias failed to do. After putting the corrupted hero out of his misery, the player journeys through the Oolacile Township, where they come across a mysterious soapstone exclaiming, "Let there be light."

Shining light on the opposite wall reveals a chest containing the Silver Pendant, an item that Artorias used to deflect the Dark - only he lost it and was consumed.

So, then, if you pick up where Artorias left off and face Manus with the pendant equipped, you'll find you have a pretty sweet advantage in the boss' second phase. If timed correctly, the Silver Pendant will cause any dark attacks to bounce straight off, making a lot of Manus' sorcery moves pretty obsolete.

That said, it's still a hard fight, so do NOT take the Father of the Abyss for granted.
