10 Video Game Bosses You Had To Fight TWICE

Bosses so nice, you fought them twice.

There's nothing like the feeling of a good old-fashioned boss fight. Taking on a massive threat, learning how to defeat them, and finally seeing their HP drop to zero is the kind of loop that makes gamers feel like heroes. Nothing says "I'm awesome," like putting an end to a massive baddie.

But, sometimes, once isn't enough, as there are plenty of enemies who ask for a healthy dose of seconds.

In a typical video game, you'll only fight a boss once. These one-and-done encounters are designed to make you feel like you have truly conquered your foe, putting an end to them and making the fight feel special. However, the following bosses didn't care about that, as they were more than happy to regroup and return for a rematch.

These are the encounters that had you thinking, "Hey, didn't I beat them already?" But, in most cases, you were happy to take them down all over again.

Before starting, it's important to note that second phases within boss fights won't count here. This list will focus on bosses who have two separate encounters. Additionally, this article contains a spoiler warning

10. The Assassin - The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night

Spyro is a character who has been through some ups and downs, and The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night leans a lot more toward the latter of those. But, one thing you've got to give it credit for is the determination of one of the bosses, who refused to call it quits.

The Assassin, a name that is embarrassingly boring given other enemies are called things like Toxaril Vineweasel or Acoxinem Vilesling, is a high-ranking officer in the evil ape army. He appears as the first major boss in the game, with a fight that, to put it plainly, is about as boring as his name.

After he's defeated, he yells out, "You haven't seen the last of me," which, it turns out, was an astute observation, as he'd pop up again way later in the game.

His second appearance is yet another boss fight in the same vein as the last one. But, after beating him this time, he is done and dusted. It seems he's not as effective as his name would suggest.
