8. Ketheric Thorm - Baldur’s Gate III
Act Two of Baldur's Gate 3 is a masterfully constructed arc that builds up to your encounter with the dreaded Ketheric Thorm, a villain so vile yet charming that only the legendary J.K. Simmons could voice him. But your assault on Moonrise Towers and this bad guy is hardly a one-off encounter.
When reaching the top of the tower, you'll find Ketheric and finally be allowed to land some blows on him. This leads to a boss fight, which, while not easy per se, is surprisingly relaxed given the weight of the character.
That, however, is when you learn that this battle will not be the end of General Thorm.
After getting his health down enough, Thorm skedaddles off and enters the Mind Flayer Colony, where you'll be exploring for the next hour or so. Eventually, you come across him again and thus begins the next boss encounter.
The second fight is a lot tougher, especially when Thorm hits that second phase as the Apostle of Myrkul, making it feel like a true boss battle.
