10 Video Game Buttons You Shouldn't Have Pressed (But Totally Did)

10. Endless Loop - Colossal Cave

If countless examples and cases are to be believed, it appears if you were a developer of a text-based computer game, you were also a troll of incredible skill/horror. Games like Hitchhikers Guide or Zork would see your hero die in a number of grizzly and strange ways, all for inputting something just SLIGHTLY wrong.

However, most of these pale in comparison to the rather unique way that Colossal Cave decided to punish players who interacted with things they weren't supposed to.

If you decide to fall foul of the "Emergency stop" button, then you would actually force the game to enter into an infinite loop - one that would be impossible to quit out of on hardware at the time, thanks to being a single task build, and you'd have to reboot the game in order to escape.

Pretty brutal, right?
