10 Video Game Characters Fans LOVE (That You Never See)

9. The Narrator - The Stanley Parable

If Stanley Parable was just a game about an office drone wandering around his workplace with no context whatsoever, it wouldn’t be such an entertaining and remarkable experience. It is only after you add the disembodied voice of the narrator that Stanley Parable becomes what it is.

The Narrator is the only other character in Stanley Parable aside from its titular protagonist, and although he’s just a voice guiding you through the game, his presence is the heart and soul of it.

His one-sided banter with Stanley and the ever-befuddled reactions to your unwillingness to go along with his narrative are the bulk of the game’s appeal. He’s like an exhausted father to your disobedient inner child, constantly nagging and trying to educate the little rascal who's looking to gauge a reaction.

The narrator and his long-winded monologues are easily the best part of the game. They’re not only entertaining but also quite pleasant to listen to, thanks to his mellow but professional voice. He’s basically like the David Attenborough of the video game world!
