Although little is known about The Happy Mask Salesman, he has become a legend in Legend of Zelda lore. Debuting in a minor role in Ocarina of Time, this enigmatic dealer took on a much more prominent part in the "sequel", Majora's Mask.

While on his travels, he discovered an unusual mask that was laced with raw evil. When a child robbed the Salesman and stole the mask, he asked Link to retrieve it before it caused destruction on a global scale.

Despite knowing nothing about his life or his name, it's impossible for The Happy Mask Salesman not to leave an impression. His stop-motion movements are comical. His Song of Healing is touching. The way he can switch from nurturing to terrifying and back in a moment is bizarre.

Because the giggling merchant is knowledgeable about other worlds and Link's ability to control time, fans forever suspect he's far more powerful than he's letting on.

Since the Salesman's line, "You met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" rings in your ears if you fail to save the world, he's never far from your thoughts. Even though he's barely appeared in the franchise since, The Happy Mask Salesman is one you never forget.
