10 Video Game Characters That Deserved To Die (But Didn't)

5. Postal Dude - Postal 2

It's pretty common for video games which cast players as reprehensible murderers to have that character die by the end of the game, but true to its tone, Postal 2 offers no such moral climax.

Postal 2 casts the player as the gun-totting maniac known simply as the "Postal Dude," and gives them free license to kill hundreds of innocent people, assault animals, steal, and even urinate on anyone unlucky enough to be in the vicinity (to the extent that it makes them puke).

The game is a ribald middle finger to political correctness, but at the same time, there's no way that a character as unbalanced and murderously psychopathic as the Postal Dude should be allowed to carry on unchecked, right?

Well, Postal 2 laughs at the idea of punishing the psychotic protagonist, and after blowing up his hometown of Paradise at the end of the game, the Paradise Lost DLC sees him leaving the town for good with his trusty canine Champ.

That's...a pretty sweet ending for a mass murderer, no?
