10 Video Game Characters Who Broke Into Song

1. Mordin Solus (Mass Effect 2)

It's nice to know that our cultural references, especially those from the Victorian era, will still be relevant in the 22nd century.

Most people will likely recognise at least the tune that Mordin Solus is singing from the Gilbert and Sullivan operatic song “I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General”. A great throwback from BioWare, made all the better by the new lyrics.

“I Am the Very Model of a Scientist Salarian” might be even better than the original.

The original was supposed to be performed faster and it would've been a real treat to see Mordin Solus in a sped-up scientific interpretation of the famous opera hit, but this version replaces the convoluted language of Modern Major General for even more scientific jargon, which would no doubt be incredibly challenging to do fast.

This song leaves us wanting more, and had fans hoping for an extended release of this number. Furthermore, this is the most outright case of a character suddenly bursting into song unexpectedly.
