10 Video Game Characters Whose Fates Are Never Resolved
2. Conker - Conker's Bad Fur Day
Doesn't anyone else miss Rare? Their kooky style of putting cartoony eyes on literally anything from jigsaw pieces to giant ants and the like is sorely missed in modern video gaming along with the developer's truly wicked sense of humour; never more wicked than in Conker's Bad Fur Day.
The game opens with a monologue from Conker sitting upon a throne looking utterly miserable before the player is given control of the squirrel during a stinking hangover (if you've never played, now would be the time to invest many, many hours into this gem of gaming history) and cavort your way through one of the weirdest overworlds of all time.
Once you've dealt with a singing poo, a foul mouthed machine cog, the cat hating Grim Reaper and the Reich of stuffed toys; you reach the fourth wall breaking conclusion of the game - Conker drunk as ever before stumbling down a dark path...
At the time, sequels weren't quite as frequent as they are now and, whilst this left the door open, we will never know what adventures lay before Conker down the other pathway... unless this pathway led to the Diddy Kong Racing sign up?
