4. Make Lara Explode - Tomb Raider
No character has been under more scrutiny for a nudity code than Lara Croft.
The first female icon of 3D gaming, she won the hearts and minds of many players with her polygons creating a form that looks garish now, but was considered shapely at the time. Lara's image was so iconic that the sequel to her debut was marketed as "Tomb Raider II: Starring Lara Croft".
Again, speculation ran rampant as to if there would be a nude woman hidden in the coding of the game, whether it be a reward for completing as fast as humanly possible on the hardest difficulty. Or if it was buried deep within a complex string of button-presses.
Gamers thought they found it, but it was merely a red herring.
Worse, the code was simple enough to have been done on accident, given how atrocious Tomb Raider's camera was. After turning around a few times and going for a leap, Lara's body would burst apart while her appendages exploded after touching the ground.
