7. Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver
Sadly, Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver is probably the least likely member of this list to ever be remade. We've had sequels, spiritual successors and even MMOs over the years since the original games, but none have even come close to topping the original tale of revenge and vampiric conspiracy. Despite being known as an action-adventure series at its - very black - heart, the series' legacy (no pun intended) is its story. The Gothic-themed tale of betrayal, redemption and revenge revolving around anti-heroes Kain and Raziel and their role as pawns in a grander scheme of biblical proportions is what keeps it memorable to this day. It deserves to be remade purely so fans can experience its curious narrative all over again but backed up with an overhauled game engine. Crystal Dynamics currently have their work cut out for them with this year's Tomb Raider sequel, but they've got to start work on something once that's out the door. Here's to hoping it'll be this.
