10 Video Game Classics That Desperately Deserve Remakes
4. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles
Its almost become customary to rag on every new Sonic game that Sega pushes out the doors these days. The magic has quite clearly left Sonic and his friends; having buggered off to hide in some dark corner somewhere out of shame. Sonic Team have only put out two works since the Mega Drive days that have ever really shown a glimpse of that lost sparkle, the first being Sonic Colors, the other being Sonic Generations. There's always the fear that a company will totally annihilate the original game when the term remake is pegged on the end of a name, but remaking a classic such as this wouldn't require changing anything to do with the mechanics. The gameplay formula is so perfect and ageless that it's perfect the way it is. But just imagine if every single stage were to be recreated using the Sonic Generations engine and every stage track (which is fantastic) was remastered or re-recorded to follow suit. It would look and sound glorious. End of discussion.
