10 Video Game Classics That Desperately Deserve Remakes
3. Super Mario 64
Have you revisited Super Mario 64 recently? If your answer is no, then what the hell is wrong with you? If yes, then you know exactly what I'm talking about when I say it's as good today as it was 18 years ago. You'd think remaking a game that essentially set the precedent for how a 3D platformer should be made would be a no-brainer decision for Nintendo higher-ups to consider, so why hasn't it happened yet? I mean, remaking one of the greatest games of all time for a modern audience would essentially be giving Nintendo a licence to print free money to the same extent that the Final Fantasy VII Remake is surely going to do for Square Enix. Perhaps it's nostalgia that's preventing such a thing from happening, or the Big N are simply apprehensive about potentially ruining a remake of the original that's become a fond childhood memory for over eleven million people across the globe. Just imagine taking those first few steps into Princess Peach's castle in the Super Mario Galaxy engine. Now wouldn't that be a sight to behold?
