10 Video Game Clichés Everyone Is Sick Of
4. This Is Beneath Me
This one is a little shaky because I’m just describing how video games are played but it is very common and pretty entertaining when you think about it so I’m going to go ahead and include it anyway.
What I’m getting at here is the side quests, particularly repeating quests, that come along pretty far into a game which you’re asked to go handle.
Now, normally this would be pretty par for the course but if by this point you’re the Thane of every hold in Skyrim, you’ve got the world in your hands in a life or death main quest, or you’re stacked to the gills with preemo weapons, it doesn’t really make sense for freaking Preston Garvey from Fallout 4 to give you a ring every single time something goes slightly sideways with a settlement. Fetch quests also fall into this category for being pointless and strongly giving off the vibe that somebody else could really be handling this.
If you love to grind side content, that’s fine, so do I, but endless repeating quests that have no substance or challenge really do feel beneath you.
