Though the miracle that is the internet is a wonderful thing which has certainly brought the gaming community much closer together, it has also devalued the achievement of completing a game.

No longer does being stumped on a level, boss or section result in the player having to call it a day and admit that they've been beaten by the devilish developers. Nowadays the gamer just has to type in the specific section of the game which is causing them so much frustration and they'll immediately be presented with several walkthroughs or YouTube playthroughs which will show them how to progress.

We'd be lying if we said we hadn't sunk to these depths on more than one occasion. While of course it is a good thing that being stuck doesn't automatically mean the game is over for you, it's sad that completing a difficult game doesn't come with the same respect it used to. We've all done it before though if that's any comfort.
