10 Video Game Console Features NOBODY Used
5. Rear Touchpad - PlayStation Vita
If many PS4 owners find the DualShock 4's touchpad to be an excessive embellishment, it's got nothing on the PlayStation Vita's rear touchpad.
In theory, the touchpad on the back of the Vita was an attempt to compensate for the handheld's missing shoulder buttons compared to a typical PlayStation controller, but between its lack of responsiveness and tmost devs' inability or disinterest to do much with it, it quickly fell out of use.
More often than not the touchpad was reserved for gimmicky mini-games rather than actually inventive accentuations of the core gameplay, with only a small number of titles such as Tearaway actually making inspired use of it.
And so, if you're one of the many who bought a second-hand PS Vita in recent years, there's a good chance you never even knew the platform had this capability at all.
All in all, many players surely wish that Sony had outfitted the Vita with two extra shoulder buttons instead.
