Just look at this monstrosity. Back from an age where the technological revolution was a Back to the Future-style dreamland of self-tying shoelaces and robots who brought you breakfast in bed, the Gamesmaster was Active Enterprises' attempt at looking at the warring factions of various types of cartridge vs. CD and thinking "We can do all of this!" Purporting to support CDs from any system on the market along with cartridges from the NES, Genesis and Super NES - and with a lineup of exclusive games, a TV adapter and an in-car cable - the kicker was that each element of the exclusivity deal would then be partitioned off as a separate add-on - totting up your pocket money into year-long saver-sessions. Naturally the whole thing fell flat due to the idea of a homogenised system shaking hands with multiple manufacturers who thrive on exclusivity and a design that looked like a family of squished beetles, with Active Enterprises fading away into obscurity. Did you play any of these consoles, or do you have any from the years gone by we've missed off? Let us know in the comments!
