10 Video Game Developers Who Killed The Franchise They Were Handed
5. Robomodo - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
The absolute state of this "fifth instalment". The absolute state of what Robomodo thought would justify a sequel, releasing with graphics that looked a good two generations removed from current, with gameplay that was awkward at best, and downright broken at worst.
Glitches abounded as you'd be lucky to go one game without your character's legs getting stuck in the ground or perhaps even taking flight. Original developers Neversoft merged with Infinity Ward in 2014, meaning there was simply no way to reinvigorate the series with that same punk rock spirit the first titles had in spades.
Needless to say, this simply didn't justify its brand name and legacy, nor anything other than a bargain bin purchase. To this day you're better off playing the PS1 originals by a considerable distance, leaving Tony Hawk's to die on the vine as a once-was that we all used to adore.
