10 Video Game DLC That's Actually Worth The Money
2. Mario Kart 8
Nintendo fans will often have a difficult time providing examples of paid DLC that doesn't feel like a complete rip off.
Sure, Breath of the Wild has brought the world Link on a motorbike, but then Super Smash Bros asked players to cough up a fiver to play as Bayonetta.
Then comes along the game that brought more than a literal extra mile; Mario Kart 8. It may have started badly with an odd Mercedes Benz deal, but Mario Kart 8 quickly showed its DLC would add all manner of new worlds and awesome characters.
First there was a delightful novelty of Link, as well as eight new courses in the Egg and Triforce Cups. Then Animal Crossing got in on the action with another load of playable characters and eight even better courses in the Bell and Crossing Cups. These 16 new courses really pumped up the game, essentially adding another layer to one of Nintendo's tastiest games.
