10 Video Game DLCs That Went Off The Rails
1. Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare
Finally, we have what has to be the most famous off-the-wall DLC of all time.
Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare might as well be treated as a standalone game, with its six hours of gameplay, new modes and mechanics, and an amazing Weird West setting, which does a complete one-eighty from the original story of the game.
Undead Nightmare takes place in an alternate timeline where an ancient Aztec curse has turned most of the population into flesh-eating zombies. John Marston has to journey deep into the nightmare-stricken wasteland and fight his way through the hordes of the undead in order to stop the plague and save his family.
The DLC is honestly an amazing experience, regardless of whether you played the main game or not. In fact, with its wide variety of enemies, settlement protection mechanics, and four new mounts inspired by the four horsemen of the apocalypse, Undead Nightmare can sometimes feel as if it has more content than regular Red Dead Redemption!
The DLC has been such a big hit with the fans, they even decided to remake it for Red Dead Redemption II.
It just goes to show that cowboys and zombies are a match made in heaven!
