10 Video Game Easter Eggs That SERIOUSLY Took The Piss

Sometimes video games can be brutally hard, I mean just ask anyone who's played Dark Souls or any of the Ninja Gaiden games, and you know what? That's not a bad thing, as demanding challenges bring out the most skilled and determined players from amongst the pack.

And if skill or talent isn't your strong suit, you can always cheat. Just maybe don't think that the devs aren't aware of what you're trying to do.

Such is the case of Diddy's Kong-Quest made by the behemoths that were (RIP) Rare. While the first Donkey Kong Country blew the world away with it's impressive sprite animations and fluid gameplay, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest blew the original away by upping the quality and challenge across the board.

The game is pretty much the perfect platformer, but if you were struggling with some areas, then don't worry as by inputting Y, A, Select, A, Down, Left, A, Down you'd get 50 extra lives to see you through. However look a bit closer at these inputs and you'll see that this actually spells YA SAD LAD, meaning that the devs were mocking you for taking the easy way out.

Fair one.
