10 Video Game Endings That Made No Sense

2. Dog In The Control Room - Silent Hill 2

Granted, this ending is considered to be something of a "joke ending" and it isn't even supposed to make sense; quite the opposite, in fact. But given that it's an actual ending that anybody playing Silent Hill 2 could stumble upon given that they played the game a specific way, it only feels right to include it as an entry on this list. A lot of the Silent Hill games have joke endings as you may well know, but the Silent Hill 2 variant takes the prize for "most insane." That's to say, upon discovering a bone-shaped key during your second play-through of the game, protagonist James Sunderland might find himself coming face to face with... a dog in a control room? Yes, it turns out that the entire game has been a simulation designed entirely by a cute dog wearing a headset. "So it was all your work!" cries James Sunderland. Then the dog proceeds to lick his face, presumably as a treat for stumbling upon the proper ending. How very... Japanese?
