10 Video Game Endings That Made No Sense

5. Death Of The Planet - Killzone 3

The ending of otherwise pretty great first-person shooter Killzone 3 is somewhat notorious for the way in which it p*ssed a hell of a lot of people off, mainly because it changed how fans felt about certain characters in a moment of pure "WTF?" that also served as a still unresolved cliffhanger and made absolutely no sense. At the end of the game, then, heroes Sev, Hooper, Jammer and Narville destroy a giant cruiser with a nuke, which results in a huge explosion that - in turn - destroys the entire planet and probably everybody on Earth in the process. Not only did this make little sense from a story perspective, it felt a lot like the developers had no idea what to do and just opted to tie up the plot as quickly as possible, regardless of logic, with the death of the population. Why did the characters even do what they did? What was the point in trying to save the planet by, um, destroying the planet? Seriously rubbish.
