10 Video Game Endings With Disturbing Implications You Totally Missed
1. There's No Way To Feed Everyone - Mass Effect 3
As much as I don’t want to rip the bandage off of this salty, SALTY wound, we must once more discuss the ending of Mass Effect 3. Ignoring the ire that this ending drew, or the Extended Edition that was tacked on after the backlash, there’s still one massive issue that the devs seemed to have overlooked.
Namely: What are all of those ships, who are now stranded in space thanks to the broken Mass Effect relays, going to do to survive?
Think about it: Now that the alliance of races has no way to travel back to their central hubs, and are instead left in isolated clusters surrounding Earth, what resources do they have to make sure that they can 1. Repair the relays, and 2. Keep everyone fed?
Also remember that different races eat different foods. You might be a Quarian who’s stuck in a star cluster with literally nothing you can eat. You might be even see relationships destabilise as desperate choices are made to keep specific individuals fed and safe. Obviously the game doesn’t address this, instead focusing on your recent victory over The Reapers.
To be fair, that is huge cause for celebration, but maybe don’t overdo it on the Turian fruit juice.
That’s gotta last us the next six months.
