Expertise at a title like Dead or Alive comes with practice, patience and understanding the game’s mechanics. Picking your character, memorising their combos and understanding the best times to pull them off can turn you from a button bashing scrub to a legitimate threat if you put in the time.

Watch all health bars crumble before your might!

Dead or Alive 4’s campaign ends with the return of the super-powered clone of Kasumi, known in this game as Alpha-152. What makes her different from all the regular battles you’ve had so far is her movement. Alpha is extremely quick to act, able to pull out attacks one after another even on the easiest modes making it possible you’ll get knocked out before you can get your bearings. She’s floaty, speedy and tough to hit.

What makes the fight feel truly unfair, and makes this battle drag on way too long, is how light she is. One strike is enough to send her flying backwards, essentially stopping you from mounting a proper offence.

Your ability to combo is now useless, and the battle with Alpha-152 becomes a long push and pull of her devastating and superfast moves against your only option of chipping away at her health bar.
