The Megaman X series has had some great titles, some not so great titles, and some that make you see the red mist and wake up in a Taiwanese hospital covered in blood and the purple stuff from those Sunny D commercials. Megaman X5 is somewhere in the middle of those two extremes, doing some things incredibly clever and some things red mist-inducing.

But chief among the clever end of that spectrum is the choice based storyline. Basically, you have to decide for yourself when is the best time to go fight series antagonist Sigma. The game encourages you to go after all the pieces needed to finish the maguffin superweapon to beat Sigma properly and get the best ending.

But if you wanna go nuts to that and go after Sigma immediately as he shows up because you're tired of his bald, makeup wearing candy ass and wanna put him in the dirt, you can! I mean, you'll net the worst ending, just barely defeat Sigma and generally not feel nearly as satisfied as if you actually played the whole damn game, but you can!
