10 Video Game Franchises Dying For A Comeback

9. Project Gotham Racing

Before Forza came to completely dominate the racing scene, Project Gotham Racing used to give it a run for its money. Perhaps now is the time the challenger returned.

From 2001 till 2007, we were given four entries into the series, which has subsequently disappeared from console rosters. The main element unique to PGR was its Kudos points system.

For performing various feats of driving expertise, Kudos points would be awarded. The result was that PGR presented a racing experience balanced between driving elegance and the usual 'crossing the finishing line first' goal. Consequently, there was a fine balance between the points based arcade style elements and the realism of the driving itself.

Considering that the first Project Gotham Racing was the second best selling title on the original Xbox, behind only Halo, and that subsequent entries were well received, it is really rather odd to think that the series has been absent for some fourteen years.

Given its mix of realism and arcade elements, the series could assuredly make a strong return to the fore.
