What Everyone Says: "If you still love Duke Nukem in 2016, you must be a sexist pig."

Duke Nukem is, arguably more than just about any other video game series or character, a distinct product of its time. The games pride themselves on a muscled bada** killing the bad guys and saving the (usually large-breasted) babes, such that 2011's Duke Nukem Forever even featured a Capture the Babe multiplayer mode instead of the usual "Capture the Flag" offering.

Duke is unquestionably an iconic and important staple of video game lore, but at present, where video games have truly come out of the dungeon and become a more socially acceptable form of entertainment, alongside successful calls for more favourable representations of women in the entertainment sphere, it's a little awkward to profess your love for these titles.

Most unaware of the context will take one look at someone playing a Duke Nukem game and write them off as a woman-hating deviant, so outside the circle of veteran gamers, it's easiest to just keep this one in the closet.
