The Wolf Among Us was a truly unfortunate victim of Telltale Games' closure in 2018. Not only was this extremely traumatic for the workers let go - as many of them were stopped in the middle of their work to be told they had thirty minutes to leave the building - but it also halted work on many promising franchises.

While most of these franchises will be fine, because ultimately the likes of Batman, The Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones will end up being bought up by another studio, The Wolf Among Us isn't as sure a situation. Based on the popular Fable series, the franchise still needed to prove itself viable for other medias, and this had been its chance to shine.

And so many were excited when it was revealed that LCG Entertainment had bought the rights to the Telltale name, and were planning a sequel for The Wolf Among Us.

However, just as many were decidedly unsure about how wise a move this was, given Telltale still owed debts to many of its former employees, and since the company's only gesture to these workers had been to offer them freelance work in San Francisco - which is an area likely too expensive for the kind of wage they would get.

There's still potential for things to go right under LCG, but the suffering of talented workers has likely undermined many a fan's thoughts on the series.
