10 Video Game Franchises That ALWAYS Get It Wrong
3. FIFA
If there's one series that has taken to releasing video games at a near-racketeering level, it's Fifa.
With at least one title in the series released every year since 1993, Fifa has become the go-to game for fans of the beautiful game. Reflecting the updates to every team's squad, kits and competitions they're competing in, EA have players over a barrel. If they want the most up-to-date experience, they have to buy the latest game each year.
Unfortunately, this has led to an infamous reputation amongst gamers that the Fifa franchise is a continuous cycle of pumping out essentially the same game and demanding £50 each time for good measure.
What's more, fans have become increasingly vocal over what they perceive as EA's true priority when it comes to developing the series. Microtransactions through Ultimate Team packs and promos have become the order of the day, whilst upgrades to other modes like Career Mode or fixes to things like scripting remain ever-present.
EA can harp on about Hypermotion technology all they want, Fifa has largely felt the same since 2008.
