10 Video Game Franchises That Were Destroyed In A Single Moment

1. Mass Effect - The Ending Of The Third Game

Mass Effect 3 But no game on this list has taken as much flak for its creative choices as Mass Effect, which enjoyed critical and audience acclaim for its first two games, before falling at the third, bookending hurdle. Y'see, it had been claimed by BioWare that the third game would take into account the choices you had made in the first two titles (presuming you still had the save file handy), and it would have plenty of impact on how it all ends. However, this turned out to be basically bull**** as we learned at the end of the game, which simply required players to pick one of three colours to decide their fate. It's such a shockingly flat ending that angry gamers actually insisted BioWare change the ending, which even more shockingly, they actually did, by way of an augmented DLC ending, though frankly, the damage had already been done. The ME brand instantly lost tremendous amounts of respect, which is a shame given how excellent all three games otherwise were. Which franchises do you feel have destroyed themselves the most?
