10 Video Game Franchises With Only ONE Good Game
6. Call Of Juarez

Despite the fact Techland's original cowboy shooter was atmospheric and the shooting mechanics were awesome, it was let down by fiddly controls, poor stealth, and linear levels. (Also, the platforming sections and the whip mechanics were indefensibly awful.)
Techland took all the criticism onboard for the prequel, Bound for Blood, removing the platforming and stealth elements. But due to the braindead AI and samey missions, it was still far from great. But Bound for Blood was a step in the right direction, so fans were hoping it would be third time lucky.
But Call of Juarez: The Cartel swapped out Mexican standoffs and horse riding with drive-by shootings and taking down drug dealers. Even if this modern reboot was disassociated from the series, it was still a mess in its own right.
Just when it looked like COJ was out of juice, 2013's Gunslinger set things right. The fourth entry ditches the semi-realism and embraces the flashy action of Spaghetti Westerns. The gameplay is deeply addictive, rewarding players with bonuses for performing combos and slo-mo kills.
Also, it's nice to see real cowboys like Billy the Kid, Jesse James, Butch Cassidy, and the Sundance Kid being incorporated into a Wild West game.
Though Call of Juarez was all over the place for a while, its future looks bright than ever now, thanks to Gunslinger.
