10 Video Game Franchises You Won't Be Seeing For A While
6. Deus Ex
The disappointing commercial performance of Mankind Divided means that Deus Ex simply isn't coming back any time soon.
This is a crying shame when you consider that both of the newer Deus Ex games were extremely well-received by fans and critics alike, and reintroduced the series in a big way.
The real problem for this new Deus Ex was the meddling of publishers, with things like the 'Augment Your Pre-Order' campaign making the game seem sloppy. Combine this with a rushed release and a much shorter adventure, and you have a sequel that didn't quite live up to expectations.
Despite these issues, Mankind Divided was still a good game and one that generated plenty of positive reviews. Whether because of releasing in August or just a general lack of hype, the thing that killed Mankind Divided were the sales numbers.
These rumours were only compounded further when Eidos Montreal moved on to work on new projects following the release of Mankind Divided.
Let's just hope that this isn't the last we've seen of Adam Jensen.
