10 Video Game Heroes Way Worse Than The Villain

Duke Nukem is just a bizarre, unnecessary character that doesn't really fit into today's video game industry. His sexist, extra-macho, manly demeanour and style was out of place in 2011 and that hasn't changed. For the exact same reason wacky MTV shows of the 90s stopped being funny, so did Duke Nukem. People have moved on.

But, he's the hero, right? A very weird hero. A hero with a gigantic ego who could actually be perceived as more of an ignorant bully. His opposition is aliens, so it's hard to give a decent gauge of who's really better but Duke gives a hostile alien race a run for their money.

He objectifies women, is generally blunt, brutish and unlikable and thinks throwing around literal pieces of s**t is funny. That's without mentioning his other habits. To him, urinating on things is quite hilarious, including the final boss, whose eye socked he pisses in.

Ultimately, it's been a long time since Duke Nukem was the guy and characters like Duke have evolved into characters like the protagonist of Saint's Row. Hell, at least in that game you become the president, as opposed to the president hating you so much he orders a nuclear strike on you.
