8. Kratos (God of War Series)
Job: Servant of the Gods/God of War
Kratos has it made in God of War II: after slaughtering Ares at the climax of the first game, he has risen to take the former gods throne. But its just not enough. Kratos reign is a brutal one, and though hes warned time after time by Athena and her father, he refuses to cease his violent campaign. Zeus tricks Kratos into giving up his powers and is promptly betrayed by the gods of Olympus. As he falls into the void, Kratos vows revenge, but, really, the whole thing is his fault. He's never been a particularly sympathetic character, as his insatiable lust for violence and vengeance is what gets him into trouble. If he had just learned to get a handle on that rage and gone to some Grecian form of anger management, he could have become a great god of war instead of killing all the other gods and dooming everyone to chaos.
